Earthing Floor Mat Only

Step 1: (Optional)  Check Your Outlets Are Earthed with our Socket Tester:

In order to use your Earthing products through an electrical outlet, you must connect them to the “earth port” of an earthed 3 prong outlet. Before plugging in your Earthing product, check that the outlet is earthed by plugging in the Socket Tester. Three orange lights illuminated is GOOD and means that you have a proper earth and you are ready to connect your Earthing product. Any other light combination means your outlet is NOT properly earthed. Try testing another outlet. If it still doesn’t work, then you will need to use a grounding rod in the optional step 2 below. 

If using existing or old powerboards it is important to check that they are earthed correctly.

Please Note: In Australia, it is compulsory by law to have all electrical power outlets Earthed, however, if in doubt for any reason it is easy to check with our socket tester which is inclusive in all our Starter Packs, otherwise you can purchase individually – please click here to order.

Step 2: (Optional) Using The Ground Rod When Outlets Aren't Earthed:

a. First Push the Ground Rod directly into the earth around 20cm to 25cm, close to the foundation of the building and where vegetation is growing or the area is damp.

b. Run the cord from the Ground Rod, under or around a window or door, near where you will be using your product.

c. Make sure to cover the cord to prevent tripping.

d. Plug the prong end of your cord into the receptacle end of the Ground Rod cord. If you live in a dry area, such as a desert, soak the earth around the Ground Rod from time to time for maximum conductivity.

Step 3: Setting Up Your Floor Mat Mat:

a. Decide where you want to use the mat. Your options include almost any place where you work, sit, stand, relax, or exercise. 

b. The smooth side faces up - with the clip-on for the cord, the textured side faces down.  

c. Insert the metal pin end of the Earthing cord into the adapter plug supplied, then push into an earthed wall outlet or powerboard.  If using a Ground Rod, connect the metal pin end of the Earthing cord to the end of the Ground Rod cord and then place the rod into the Earth outside.

d. Snap the other end of Earthing cord onto the metal press stud on the Earthing Floor Mat.

Ideas for use include: Office, under your standing or sitting desk (yes, you can place your chair on top of it!); Kitchen, where you wash dishes or prep food/ Living room, to sit or put your feet on while playing games or watching TV, Bathroom, in front of the sink, Laundry Room while folding clothes, or ironing; Gym, pilates, yoga, stretching, or weights. It’s a perfect floor mat for pets to relax on too.

We recommend no more than one fabric layer (cotton, bamboo, or poly-cotton blend) between yourself and the Floor Mat.  Direct skin contact is always best. Pets must make direct contact due to their fur.

Step 4: How To Wash and Care For Your Earthing Floor Mat

a. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. 
b. If you’d like to add a little soap on the damp cloth for a deeper clean, it must be free of essential oils, bleach, and oxygen agents.
c. Air dry. Ensure the Floor Mat is dry before rolling it up.
d. Do not attempt to put the Floor Mat in the washing machine or dryer.
e. Wait one hour after applying lotions, creams, and body oils to touch the Floor Mat. These can oxidize and damage conductivity.

Materials
The Earthing Floor Mat is made up of two important layers.

1. TOP LAYER: The smooth, top, conductive layer of the Floor Mat is made of polyurethane (PU) infused with conductive carbon. This is the side you touch to be grounded.<

• PU: Leather look-alike items made with PU are vinyl-free and phthalate-free. PU helps to absorb moisture when exercising or standing on so it doesn’t become slippery.
• Carbon: Carbon is the 2nd most abundant element in the human body, after oxygen, and is what conducts the earth's electrons. It also makes the Floor Mat naturally flame resistant without the need to add harsh chemicals.

2. BOTTOM LAYER: The grippy bottom, a non-conductive layer is made of natural rubber. It provides a textured grip against the floor for stability and cushioning for comfort when standing or sitting on it.

Please Note: Due to the nature of natural rubber, this mat may have a slight rubber odour that will fade over time. You may place it in the sunshine for a few hours if you wish to expedite the process.
